Protectli Vault Installation: A Quick Overview

Welcome back, everyone! Today, I’m excited to give you a brief overview of how to install the Protectli Vault, a powerful mini-PC firewall appliance perfect for managing network security.

Unboxing the Protectli Vault

• Packaging: Arrives securely packaged with the device, power adapter, UK power plug, and console cable.

• Device Features: Robust build with multiple Ethernet ports, DC port, HDMI port, COM port, and reset button.

Preparing for Installation

• Tools Needed: Screwdriver, additional components like memory or storage drive.

• Opening the Device: Unscrew the four screws at the bottom to access internal components.

Installing Memory and Storage

• Memory Installation: Insert the memory module into the slot and ensure it clicks into place.

• Storage Drive Installation: Align the storage drive with the slot and secure it with screws.

Setting Up the Protectli Vault

• Power and Network Connection: Connect the power adapter and an Ethernet cable.

• Initial Power-Up: Power on the device and check status lights for power and network connectivity.

Installing Software

• Software Installation: Insert a bootable USB with your preferred firewall software (OpenWRT, pfSense, etc.).

• Monitor and Keyboard: Connect via HDMI and use a keyboard to navigate the installation process.
