Self learning tactics

Answer from the iac course

Today, I would like to go over a question that was asked to me by one of the course takers of my infrastructure escort. The question was about getting through a checkbox in a VMware workstation. I want to share how you can use self-learning and create strategies with technology to learn things faster.

Asking questions is very important, but before you ask the questions, you have to realize that there are different channels where you can ask them. I will talk about four channels that you can use to ask further questions.

The first channel is WhatsApp. Asking questions on WhatsApp is very important. You can take a picture and ask, but if you can do a better job, create a Loom video and ask the question with a Loom video. I ask more than 30 to 40 questions a day on WhatsApp. Not only on one technical topic, though. I want to make sure that I proofread everything I do on a regular basis, so I use WhatsApp a lot.

The second source I use is Reddit. There are subreddits where you can ask questions. It's not just about asking questions on WhatsApp; you can also ask questions in a subreddit. When you ask a question in a subreddit, you'll find out that there's a subreddit for workstations, there's a subreddit for VMware, and so on. This way, you'll be able to get answers much faster because people are online. WhatsApp is good if the other person is going to answer, but Reddit is great because there are enthusiastic people ready to answer your questions.

The third place you can ask is on websites like Stack Overflow, specific to your niche. Definitely go there and ask your questions. I personally use x.com and tag people related to those websites who are in that sector. For example, if I'm asking a question about VMware workstation, I will put an "@" sign before "VMware Workstation" and directly ask my question.

My fourth option, which is my main go-to, is a monthly subscription to Azure support. There are paid people who work in Azure and are there to answer my questions. It may take some time to find the right person, but if you connect the dots and find someone related to your question, you'll get the answer you need. My strategy is to use all four channels simultaneously. By asking better questions using different methods in WhatsApp, Reddit, x.com, or Azure support, you can speed up the learning process and gain different insights.

Remember, each method provides a unique learning experience. By diversifying your approach and leveraging technology, you can enhance your self-learning journey.
