(…) Are you an IT contractor like myself a professional struggling to make the best decisions in your life?
(…)
Are you working in the IT and you are working all these problems and you are struggling(…) to make the best decisions in your life?
(…)
Are you an IT contractor like myself and struggling to make the best decisions?
(…)
Are you working in IT and struggling to make the best decisions?
(…)
Do you find it very hard for yourself if you had enough rest?
(…)
IT can be overwhelming and making sure that you have enough rest is very critical.
(…)
Well today I am going to share with you what I do to make sure that I got enough rest as a DevOps contractor.
(…)
I do understand the challenging of managing the rest because I do work in three different time zones.
(…)
And it is very crucial for your overall well-being and productivity and I am not talking about toxic productivity, I am talking about real productivity.
(…)
So join me in this video so how we can prioritize your success with something that is customized for you.
(…)
So join me in this video we are going to share about how I deal with this process and how you can deal with this process.
(…)
Let's look at the world that I live in. I live in the United Kingdom in Cambridge and I work as a DevOps contractor as I mentioned. I do contracts for enterprise customers and I dedicate a lot of my time to be able to debug the machines, to be able to write code, to be able to deploy those code to the enterprise software.
(…)
If I am not physically and mentally rested then I am going to make bad decisions.
(…)
And those bad decisions include my mental health as well as the physical health.
(…)
I am not talking about a work-life balance, you can find those videos in all the videos on YouTube. I am going to talk about to you in terms of an irrational person like myself. What do I do to make sure that I get enough rest?
(…)
We got to understand everybody's definition of rest is very very different than each other. I categorize people's cognitions the way that they think, the way that they make decisions into four different categories. The first category is the emotional ones.(…) Emotional ones use their senses to make their decisions. Rational people make sure that they have a minimum path and they take the best route. They are thinking with their mind. The problem oriented people try to focus on going to every single journey to the problems like myself. Solution oriented people like Elon Musk, they are going to make sure that they are using a sinus and making sure that they go from A to B in a most productive manner for everybody. So it is very very different for each different cognition.
(…)
I did listen to this approach on being an engineer, being a pilot and a plane. So every cognition has different ratios for them. For my cognition who is very problem oriented, I need to make sure that I am resting all the time and I am working all the time at the same time. So every day taking a break is part of my work though and I am taking this very very seriously because I am not a rational person. I am always introducing new problems to my life and when I introduce new problems I am going to have a very challenging life for myself.
(…)
So for a rational person or for a solution oriented person, being meditation might not mean that much but for myself it is very very important though because I am trying to fix the plane and fly it at the same time and that is not something that is very very easy for myself. But if I was a rational person I could just do a Pomodoro technique, I would do 5-6 Pomodoro's. They are righted down or for an emotional person this would work as well. My life will be very very easy though for an irrational person who is going in a cycles it is a different system.
(…)
But how do you understand that you need to take a rest? It is critical though if you are unable to debug the system, if you don't know where the problem is you want to realize that you need to take a rest. For rational people you guys can just skip this video, you guys can say alright I know that I have a very minimal life and I know where to take my rest. For people like myself it is not very very clear though because we are fixing our life every single day, we are focused on engineering a lot, it is not very straight forward for us.
(…)
Using the rest includes a very personalized approach so I can only talk for myself and I am only sharing my experience how I go through this.
(…)
I dedicate a lot of time to understand myself and understand how I work with the spine and with this body because if I have a healthy body and a healthy mind I can work at the top level, I can bring my A game all the time.
(…)
Such as for me to rest sometimes means going to the spa, sometimes means going to the gym, sometimes means going to a forest and making sure that I take my family out so there is not only one solution for myself.
(…)
As a problem oriented person I always test new stuff though such as last night I watched this new movie The Arrival, no the Invasion, Invasion for the 8th season, not for the 8th season for the first season so I have to watch it though so I am a little bit burned out watching this movie and I cannot say if it is a series or the movie I definitely need to take more rest but that doesn't mean that I need to go to bed at a certain time. From time to time because I have a very irrational cognition what I do is most of the time I don't binge the movies but from time to time I do binge them and make sure that I watch the movies or the TV series.
(…)
One of the reasons it is very important for me because I am the breadwinner in the family and I am an immigrant I understand that my health is a key factor of my success so binging those TV series is alright as long as I can leverage it as an irrational person I can use the ideas in one of the videos if I can use the movie production techniques in my future videos yes binging that movie was good though binging the TV series is good but if you are never ever going to use it don't do it that's my true sense for you.
(…)
Because one of my goals is to be able to create an AWS certificate scores and to make sure that I help you guys pass hacker rank like this and I need to make sure that you guys understand what I'm going through in my life in a very very authentic manner if you guys understand that passing an AWS architect test takes a big amount of focus and you need to rest if you are not rested you wouldn't be able to become an AWS architect and you wouldn't even be able to get the certificate or to pass the hacker rank test because these require you to be able to focus for an extended period of time.
(…)
Also for myself it is not a zero and a one game life is not just going to work night five I'm trying to create a business and I'm trying to escape the rat race and the racing is also part of it though if I'm not rested enough the last time that I had to pivot the business I lost around two years so that is also very very important you have to make sure that you are going in the correct way to be able to pedal your bike in the correct direction if you are going in the wrong direction if you are not rested I'm making the wrong directions then things will take much longer time for my cognition I'm already irrational I'm already taking a lot of time to be able to complete a task so for me the direction is much more important than for most of the other cognitions.
(…)
Such as what I do is I said I'm living in Cambridge but I'm not just living in a suburban though I'm living in the center of Cambridge because I have to work as an engineer, pilot and a plane at the same time I need to make sure everything is very very close but I need to go and play poker because when I play poker I realize that if I'm playing it very very loose yes I didn't get enough rest the movie theater is very close but if I'm falling asleep maybe I'm not following my hypoglycemia or I'm not rested enough that I can't watch the movie and tend that's very very important but I'm walking to work if I'm having a hard time it means I didn't get enough cardio I'm not lifting enough weights so that is very important for me to be able to debug and solve it instantly and even though I have a very irrational life I'm going to the spa I'm going to the gym sometimes I'm binging a TV series I'm always debugging and understanding what is going wrong and deciding my next action based on that
(…)
and don't forget I'm not David Goggins I'm not going to say you stay hard yes he has a point he is very very emotional but for myself I'm working with the computers and I'm solving multiple different problems at the same time right now there's an audio problem there's a camera problem I'm gonna go to two different meetings I'm waiting for a visa application so I need to make sure that I get enough rest and then I go to the spa I can meditate so this is critical so this is critical for me but the spa shouldn't be in the past I was making that mistake I was only going to the spa but not going for a hard workout right now I'm doing both of them though which is very critical for me though being able to change though I'm not a minimalist if you are a rational person with a cognition you should not do this though you should do completely opposite of what I'm doing
(…)
as I'm an irrational person I have always multiple purposes for the single thing though the gym is not a gym for me I also take a shower there come back to work and work when I go to David Lloyd's the spa I make sure that the kids go to the club I have dinner there and I use the new Volvo there to make sure that I can get the taste of the Volvo at least for three months in the subscription plan so I am always mixing the things in a bundle where I have the most adventures as I can
(…)
but is this easy for the people next to you definitely not though but for myself when I'm saying that I'm resting though I also make sure that people around me I adapt to their situation as well what do I mean such as a friend of mine is depressed and he is or she is from a Turkish culture though I make sure that I don't do all that week and I make sure that I binge movies with her or with him and I change my life because to make sure that I can help her or help is very very important so for my irrational life I find it very very rational to be able to support on time
(…)
so
(…)
as I know I'm very irrational I understand the importance of monitoring myself one of the reasons that I'm playing poker is not just the gambler yes gambling is fun but the reality is once you are playing poker I realize that when I make bad decisions one of the key factors is I'm not resting enough and I'm not enjoying the game enough
(…)
if you are going to take anything from this video understand there are different cognitions in the world and you are one of them try to take the test that I mentioned down below one of them is a coordination test one of them is a cognition test one of them is a personality test try to understand yourself and try to create a resting system strategy tailored for yourself don't just watch a video and try to fix yourself by watching the video I couldn't fully fix myself though yes I was able to increase my income by 100x in the last 10 years but money is also one of the factors in this game though I still don't have the six pack I don't I can't say I did the rest enough though as I mentioned in this video I couldn't rest while I'm recording this video but right now I had to solve the problem of the Amir sending him and completing his payment as well as for the Andres who is not here today so I need to make sure that I bundle the things do the things at the same time and I also understand that I have to work on my resting techniques and become better at this process because it's going to be a harder life the year end is coming I have to complete my payments of the tax office and make sure that I can play this game at a higher level I'm getting new visas in the US globally and in the Asia as well I will be flying more so I need to understand resting is becoming much more crucial part of my game and I have to rest every single day because my engines are running all the time I'm flying this plane all the time and I'm doing something that's very very repetitive very easy to get burned out

professional struggling to make the best

01:00:05,159 --> 01:00:06,559
decisions in your life?
4
01:00:07,079 --> 01:00:09,980
Are you working in the IT followed by all
5
01:00:09,980 --> 01:00:13,079
the problems or struggling to make the
6
01:00:13,079 --> 01:00:14,579
best decisions in your life?
7
01:00:15,340 --> 01:00:18,340
Are you an IT contractor like myself and
8
01:00:18,340 --> 01:00:20,320
struggling to make the best decisions?
9
01:00:20,780 --> 01:00:23,199
Are you working in IT and struggling to
10
01:00:23,199 --> 01:00:24,219
make the best decisions?
11
01:00:24,619 --> 01:00:27,219
Do you find it very hard for yourself if
12
01:00:27,219 --> 01:00:28,400
you had enough rest?
13
01:00:28,440 --> 01:00:31,420
IT can be overwhelming and making sure
14
01:00:31,420 --> 01:00:32,360
that you have enough
15
01:00:32,360 --> 01:00:33,900
rest is very critical.
16
01:00:34,519 --> 01:00:36,800
Well, today I'm going to share with you
17
01:00:36,800 --> 01:00:39,340
what I do to make sure that I got enough
18
01:00:39,340 --> 01:00:41,000
rest as a DevOps contractor.
19
01:00:41,519 --> 01:00:43,559
I do understand the challenging of
20
01:00:43,559 --> 01:00:46,000
managing the rest because I do work in
21
01:00:46,000 --> 01:00:47,159
three different time zones.
22
01:00:47,519 --> 01:00:50,139
And it is very crucial for your overall
23
01:00:50,139 --> 01:00:52,599
well-being and productivity and I'm not
24
01:00:52,599 --> 01:00:54,500
talking about the toxic productivity,
25
01:00:54,820 --> 01:00:56,659
I'm talking about the real productivity.
26
01:00:57,400 --> 01:00:59,659
So join me in this video so how we can
27
01:00:59,659 --> 01:01:03,719
prioritize your success with something
28
01:01:03,719 --> 01:01:05,619
that is customized for you.
29
01:01:06,460 --> 01:01:07,739
So join me in this video.
30
01:01:07,960 --> 01:01:10,519
We are going to share about how I deal
31
01:01:10,519 --> 01:01:12,019
with this process and how
32
01:01:12,019 --> 01:01:13,599
you can deal with this process.
33
01:01:13,980 --> 01:01:16,079
Let's look at the world that I live in.
34
01:01:16,079 --> 01:01:18,340
I live in the United Kingdom in Cambridge
35
01:01:18,340 --> 01:01:20,099
and I work as a DevOps
36
01:01:20,099 --> 01:01:21,380
contractor, as I mentioned.
37
01:01:22,099 --> 01:01:24,820
I do contracts for enterprise customers
38
01:01:24,820 --> 01:01:28,019
and I dedicate a lot of my time to be
39
01:01:28,019 --> 01:01:29,380
able to debug the machines,
40
01:01:29,599 --> 01:01:31,239
to be able to write code, to be able to
41
01:01:31,239 --> 01:01:32,960
deploy those code to
42
01:01:32,960 --> 01:01:34,380
the enterprise software.
43
01:01:34,679 --> 01:01:37,000
If I'm not physically and mentally
44
01:01:37,000 --> 01:01:38,300
rested, then I'm going
45
01:01:38,300 --> 01:01:39,739
to make bad decisions.
46
01:01:40,119 --> 01:01:42,780
And those bad decisions include my mental
47
01:01:42,780 --> 01:01:44,860
health as well as the physical health.
48
01:01:45,519 --> 01:01:46,579
I'm not talking about
49
01:01:46,579 --> 01:01:47,659
a work-life balance.
50
01:01:47,659 --> 01:01:48,920
You can find those videos
51
01:01:48,920 --> 01:01:51,179
in all the videos on YouTube.
52
01:01:51,440 --> 01:01:54,360
I'm going to talk about to you in terms
53
01:01:54,360 --> 01:01:57,199
of an irrational person like myself.
54
01:01:57,500 --> 01:01:58,599
What do I do to make
55
01:01:58,599 --> 01:02:00,019
sure that I get enough rest?
56
01:02:00,400 --> 01:02:02,599
We got to understand everybody's
57
01:02:02,599 --> 01:02:04,739
definition of rest is very, very
58
01:02:04,739 --> 01:02:06,000
different than each other.
59
01:02:06,559 --> 01:02:09,119
I categorize people's cognitions the way
60
01:02:09,119 --> 01:02:10,920
that they think, the way that they make
61
01:02:10,920 --> 01:02:13,699
decisions into four different categories.
62
01:02:13,699 --> 01:02:15,639
The first category is the emotional ones.
63
01:02:16,099 --> 01:02:17,400
Emotional ones use their
64
01:02:17,400 --> 01:02:19,300
senses to make their decisions.
65
01:02:19,340 --> 01:02:22,440
Rational people make sure that they have
66
01:02:22,440 --> 01:02:24,420
a minimum path and
67
01:02:24,420 --> 01:02:25,980
they take the best route.
68
01:02:26,320 --> 01:02:27,619
They are thinking with their mind.
69
01:02:28,059 --> 01:02:30,480
The problem oriented people try to focus
70
01:02:30,480 --> 01:02:33,320
on going to every single journey to the
71
01:02:33,320 --> 01:02:34,500
problems like myself.
72
01:02:35,039 --> 01:02:37,340
Solution oriented people like Elon Musk,
73
01:02:37,340 --> 01:02:38,440
they are going to make sure
74
01:02:38,440 --> 01:02:40,019
that they are using a Sinus
75
01:02:40,119 --> 01:02:42,820
and making sure that they go from A to B
76
01:02:42,820 --> 01:02:44,780
in a most productive
77
01:02:44,780 --> 01:02:46,500
manner for everybody.
78
01:02:46,920 --> 01:02:49,340
So it is very, very different for each
79
01:02:49,340 --> 01:02:50,320
different cognition.
80
01:02:50,820 --> 01:02:54,679
I did listen to this approach on being an
81
01:02:54,679 --> 01:02:57,039
engineer, being a pilot and a plane.
82
01:02:57,300 --> 01:02:59,099
So every cognition has
83
01:02:59,099 --> 01:03:00,920
different ratios for them.
84
01:03:01,219 --> 01:03:03,260
For my cognition, who is very problem
85
01:03:03,260 --> 01:03:06,019
oriented, I need to make sure that I'm
86
01:03:06,019 --> 01:03:07,500
resting all the time
87
01:03:07,619 --> 01:03:08,860
and I'm working all the
88
01:03:08,860 --> 01:03:09,880
time at the same time.
89
01:03:09,940 --> 01:03:13,679
So every day taking a break is part of my
90
01:03:13,679 --> 01:03:16,460
work though and I'm taking this very,
91
01:03:16,460 --> 01:03:17,460
very seriously because
92
01:03:17,460 --> 01:03:18,880
I'm not a rational person.
93
01:03:18,880 --> 01:03:21,719
I'm always introducing new problems to my
94
01:03:21,719 --> 01:03:24,820
life and when I introduce new problems,
95
01:03:25,019 --> 01:03:26,320
I'm going to have a very
96
01:03:26,320 --> 01:03:28,300
challenging life for myself.
97
01:03:29,159 --> 01:03:31,780
So for a rational person or for a
98
01:03:31,780 --> 01:03:33,920
solution oriented person, meditation
99
01:03:33,920 --> 01:03:35,760
might not mean that much.
100
01:03:36,239 --> 01:03:38,420
But for myself, it's very, very important
101
01:03:38,420 --> 01:03:39,980
though because I'm trying to fix the
102
01:03:39,980 --> 01:03:42,579
plane and fly it at the same time.
103
01:03:42,840 --> 01:03:44,699
And that is not something that's very,
104
01:03:44,699 --> 01:03:45,860
very easy for myself.
105
01:03:46,400 --> 01:03:48,599
But if I was a rational person, I could
106
01:03:48,599 --> 01:03:49,940
just do Pomodoro technique.
107
01:03:50,599 --> 01:03:52,920
I will do five, six Pomodoro's.
108
01:03:52,920 --> 01:03:54,780
And they are righted down or for an
109
01:03:54,780 --> 01:03:56,039
emotional person,
110
01:03:56,280 --> 01:03:57,440
this would work as well.
111
01:03:57,800 --> 01:03:59,780
My life will be very, very easy though.
112
01:03:59,840 --> 01:04:02,360
For an irrational person who is going
113
01:04:02,360 --> 01:04:05,780
against cycles, it is a different system.
114
01:04:09,699 --> 01:04:10,960
But how do you understand
115
01:04:10,960 --> 01:04:12,460
that you need to take a rest?
116
01:04:12,460 --> 01:04:13,780
It is critical though.
117
01:04:13,780 --> 01:04:16,239
If you are unable to debug the system, if
118
01:04:16,239 --> 01:04:17,840
you don't know where the problem is,
119
01:04:17,840 --> 01:04:19,079
you want to realize that
120
01:04:19,079 --> 01:04:20,820
you need to take a rest.
121
01:04:21,340 --> 01:04:22,619
For rational people, you
122
01:04:22,619 --> 01:04:24,239
guys can just skip this video.
123
01:04:24,239 --> 01:04:26,000
You guys can say, "Alright, I know it. I
124
01:04:26,000 --> 01:04:27,300
have a very minimal life and
125
01:04:27,300 --> 01:04:28,900
I know where to take my rest."
126
01:04:29,340 --> 01:04:31,500
For people like myself, it's not very,
127
01:04:31,500 --> 01:04:33,420
very clear though because we are fixing
128
01:04:33,420 --> 01:04:35,239
our life every single day.
129
01:04:35,539 --> 01:04:37,900
We are focused on engineering a lot.
130
01:04:37,900 --> 01:04:40,199
It's not very straightforward for us.
131
01:04:40,940 --> 01:04:42,539
Paging the rest includes a very
132
01:04:42,539 --> 01:04:43,800
personalized approach.
133
01:04:43,800 --> 01:04:46,139
So I can only talk for myself and I'm
134
01:04:46,139 --> 01:04:47,119
only sharing my
135
01:04:47,119 --> 01:04:49,579
experience, how I go through this.
136
01:04:50,119 --> 01:04:52,400
I dedicate a lot of time to understand
137
01:04:52,400 --> 01:04:55,300
myself and understand how I work with the
138
01:04:55,300 --> 01:04:56,639
spine and with this body.
139
01:04:57,260 --> 01:04:59,159
Because if I had a healthy body and a
140
01:04:59,159 --> 01:05:00,260
healthy mind, I can
141
01:05:00,260 --> 01:05:03,460
work at the top level.
142
01:05:03,659 --> 01:05:06,940
I can bring my A game all the time.
143
01:05:08,139 --> 01:05:10,360
Such as for me to rest sometimes means
144
01:05:10,360 --> 01:05:11,380
going to the spa,
145
01:05:11,900 --> 01:05:13,219
sometimes means going to the gym,
146
01:05:13,460 --> 01:05:15,980
sometimes means going to a forest and
147
01:05:15,980 --> 01:05:18,480
making sure that I take my family out.
148
01:05:18,480 --> 01:05:19,420
So there's not only
149
01:05:19,420 --> 01:05:21,440
one solution for myself.
150
01:05:21,820 --> 01:05:24,199
As a problem oriented person, I always
151
01:05:24,199 --> 01:05:27,119
test new stuff though, such as last night
152
01:05:27,119 --> 01:05:30,340
I watched this new movie, The Arrival.
153
01:05:30,619 --> 01:05:31,980
No, the Invasion.
154
01:05:32,500 --> 01:05:33,800
Invasion for the 8th
155
01:05:33,800 --> 01:05:35,579
season, not for the 8th season.
156
01:05:35,820 --> 01:05:38,619
For the first season, 8 episodes, so I
157
01:05:38,619 --> 01:05:39,739
got to watch it though.
158
01:05:40,000 --> 01:05:42,659
So I'm a little bit burned out watching
159
01:05:42,659 --> 01:05:45,900
this movie and I cannot the movie.
160
01:05:46,119 --> 01:05:46,800
It is the series.
161
01:05:47,099 --> 01:05:48,239
I can't even say if it
162
01:05:48,239 --> 01:05:49,539
is a series or the movie.
163
01:05:50,139 --> 01:05:52,280
I definitely need to take more rest, but
164
01:05:52,280 --> 01:05:54,320
that doesn't mean that I need to go to
165
01:05:54,320 --> 01:05:55,739
bed at a certain time.
166
01:05:56,139 --> 01:05:58,000
From time to time, because I have a very
167
01:05:58,000 --> 01:06:01,440
irrational cognition, what I do is most
168
01:06:01,440 --> 01:06:04,280
of the time I don't binge the movies,
169
01:06:04,280 --> 01:06:07,139
but from time to time I do binge them and
170
01:06:07,139 --> 01:06:08,300
make sure that I've watched
171
01:06:08,300 --> 01:06:10,219
the movies or the TV series.
172
01:06:10,780 --> 01:06:12,559
One of the reasons it's very important
173
01:06:12,559 --> 01:06:14,659
for me because I'm the breadwinner in the
174
01:06:14,659 --> 01:06:16,219
family and I'm an immigrant,
175
01:06:16,820 --> 01:06:19,820
I understand that my health is a key
176
01:06:19,820 --> 01:06:21,360
factor of my success.
177
01:06:22,039 --> 01:06:26,199
So Bingingo's TV series is alright as
178
01:06:26,199 --> 01:06:28,159
long as I can leverage it
179
01:06:28,159 --> 01:06:29,800
as an irrational person.
180
01:06:30,260 --> 01:06:33,139
I can use the ideas in one of the videos.
181
01:06:33,400 --> 01:06:36,559
If I can use the movie production
182
01:06:36,559 --> 01:06:39,059
techniques in my future videos, yes,
183
01:06:39,239 --> 01:06:41,019
Bingingo's movie was good though.
184
01:06:41,019 --> 01:06:42,860
Bingingo's TV series is good.
185
01:06:43,039 --> 01:06:43,980
But if you are never ever
186
01:06:43,980 --> 01:06:46,099
going to use it, don't do it.
187
01:06:46,320 --> 01:06:49,239
That's my true sense for you.
188
01:06:52,780 --> 01:06:55,480
Because one of my goals is to be able to
189
01:06:55,480 --> 01:06:59,320
create an AWS certificate course and to
190
01:06:59,320 --> 01:07:01,579
make sure that I help you guys pass
191
01:07:01,579 --> 01:07:03,699
hacker rank like tests.
192
01:07:03,960 --> 01:07:05,840
And I need to make sure that you guys
193
01:07:05,840 --> 01:07:08,500
understand what I'm going through in my
194
01:07:08,500 --> 01:07:10,539
life in a very, very authentic manner.
195
01:07:11,039 --> 01:07:13,260
If you guys understand that passing an
196
01:07:13,260 --> 01:07:16,820
AWS architect test takes a big amount of
197
01:07:16,820 --> 01:07:18,360
focus and you need to rest.
198
01:07:18,579 --> 01:07:20,699
If you are not rested, you wouldn't be
199
01:07:20,699 --> 01:07:23,380
able to become an AWS architect and you
200
01:07:23,380 --> 01:07:25,360
wouldn't even be able to get the
201
01:07:25,360 --> 01:07:27,820
certificate or pass the hacker rank test.
202
01:07:28,119 --> 01:07:31,039
Because these require you to be able to
203
01:07:31,039 --> 01:07:33,920
focus for an extended period of time.
204
01:07:47,239 --> 01:07:48,579
Also for myself, it is
205
01:07:48,579 --> 01:07:50,260
not a zero and a one game.
206
01:07:50,539 --> 01:07:51,760
Life is not just going
207
01:07:51,760 --> 01:07:53,139
to work, nine to five.
208
01:07:53,139 --> 01:07:55,119
I'm trying to create a business and I'm
209
01:07:55,119 --> 01:07:56,760
trying to escape the rat race
210
01:07:56,760 --> 01:07:59,880
and racing is also part of it.
211
01:08:00,039 --> 01:08:02,480
Though if I'm not rested enough, the last
212
01:08:02,480 --> 01:08:04,559
time that I had to pivot the business, I
213
01:08:04,559 --> 01:08:05,780
lost around two years.
214
01:08:06,300 --> 01:08:09,059
So that is also very, very important.
215
01:08:09,420 --> 01:08:11,199
You have to make sure that you are going
216
01:08:11,199 --> 01:08:14,300
in the correct way to be able to pedal
217
01:08:14,300 --> 01:08:17,640
your bike in the correct direction.
218
01:08:17,840 --> 01:08:19,600
If you are going in the wrong direction,
219
01:08:19,600 --> 01:08:21,439
if you are not rested and making the
220
01:08:21,439 --> 01:08:22,859
wrong directions, then
221
01:08:22,859 --> 01:08:24,960
things will take much longer time.
222
01:08:25,199 --> 01:08:27,539
For my cognition, I'm already irrational
223
01:08:27,539 --> 01:08:30,439
and already taking a lot of time to be
224
01:08:30,439 --> 01:08:31,739
able to complete a task.
225
01:08:32,359 --> 01:08:34,479
So for me, the direction is much more
226
01:08:34,479 --> 01:08:35,960
important than for most
227
01:08:35,960 --> 01:08:37,479
of the other cognitions.
228
01:08:38,119 --> 01:08:41,659
Such as what I do is I said I'm living in
229
01:08:41,659 --> 01:08:43,100
Cambridge, but I'm not just
230
01:08:43,100 --> 01:08:44,619
living in a suburb of Ngo.
231
01:08:44,619 --> 01:08:46,220
I'm living in the center of Cambridge
232
01:08:46,220 --> 01:08:48,699
because I have to work as an engineer,
233
01:08:48,920 --> 01:08:50,560
pilot and a plane at the same time.
234
01:08:50,979 --> 01:08:51,680
I need to make sure
235
01:08:51,680 --> 01:08:53,279
everything is very, very close.
236
01:08:53,479 --> 01:08:55,279
But I need to go and play poker because
237
01:08:55,279 --> 01:08:57,800
when I play poker, I realize that if I'm
238
01:08:57,800 --> 01:08:59,279
playing it very, very loose.
239
01:08:59,619 --> 01:09:02,340
Yes, I didn't get enough rest.
240
01:09:02,779 --> 01:09:04,300
The movie theater is very close.
241
01:09:04,340 --> 01:09:07,180
But if I'm falling asleep, maybe I'm not
242
01:09:07,180 --> 01:09:10,760
following my hypoglycemia or I'm not
243
01:09:10,760 --> 01:09:13,239
rested enough that I can't watch the
244
01:09:13,239 --> 01:09:16,020
movie and that's very, very important.
245
01:09:16,020 --> 01:09:17,140
But I'm walking to work.
246
01:09:17,140 --> 01:09:19,319
If I'm having a hard time, it means I
247
01:09:19,319 --> 01:09:20,539
didn't get enough cardio.
248
01:09:20,819 --> 01:09:22,180
I'm not lifting enough weights.
249
01:09:22,760 --> 01:09:24,779
So that is very important for me to be
250
01:09:24,779 --> 01:09:27,420
able to debug and solve it instantly.
251
01:09:28,319 --> 01:09:30,319
And even though I have a very irrational
252
01:09:30,319 --> 01:09:31,939
life, I'm going to the spa.
253
01:09:32,180 --> 01:09:33,100
I'm going to the gym.
254
01:09:33,140 --> 01:09:36,260
Sometimes I'm binging a TV series.
255
01:09:36,840 --> 01:09:38,859
I'm always debugging and understanding
256
01:09:38,859 --> 01:09:42,479
what is going wrong and deciding my next
257
01:09:42,479 --> 01:09:43,979
action based on that.
258
01:09:44,560 --> 01:09:46,600
And don't forget, I'm not David Goggins.
259
01:09:46,600 --> 01:09:48,399
I'm not going to say you stay hard.
260
01:09:48,399 --> 01:09:49,319
Yes, he has a point.
261
01:09:49,760 --> 01:09:51,300
He is very, very emotional.
262
01:09:51,619 --> 01:09:53,739
But for myself, I'm working with the
263
01:09:53,739 --> 01:09:55,579
computers and I'm solving multiple
264
01:09:55,579 --> 01:09:57,380
different problems at the same time.
265
01:09:57,380 --> 01:09:58,819
Right now, there's an audio problem.
266
01:09:58,819 --> 01:09:59,800
There's a camera problem.
267
01:10:00,100 --> 01:10:01,100
I'm going to go to
268
01:10:01,100 --> 01:10:02,239
two different meetings.
269
01:10:02,539 --> 01:10:04,439
I'm waiting for a visa application.
270
01:10:05,020 --> 01:10:07,220
So I need to make sure that I get enough
271
01:10:07,220 --> 01:10:09,020
rest and then I go to the spa.
272
01:10:09,279 --> 01:10:10,100
I can meditate.
273
01:10:10,659 --> 01:10:12,180
So this is critical for me.
274
01:10:12,420 --> 01:10:14,640
But the spa shouldn't be in the past.
275
01:10:14,640 --> 01:10:16,439
I was making that mistake.
276
01:10:16,439 --> 01:10:17,619
I was only going to the spa
277
01:10:17,619 --> 01:10:20,100
but not going for a hard workout.
278
01:10:20,380 --> 01:10:22,180
Right now, I'm doing both of them,
279
01:10:22,180 --> 01:10:24,680
though, which is very critical for me
280
01:10:24,680 --> 01:10:26,199
though, being able to change.
281
01:10:26,439 --> 01:10:27,939
I'm not a minimalist.
282
01:10:28,319 --> 01:10:30,300
If you are a rational person with a
283
01:10:30,300 --> 01:10:32,800
cognition, you should not do this though.
284
01:10:32,800 --> 01:10:34,260
You should do completely
285
01:10:34,260 --> 01:10:35,880
opposite of what I'm doing.
286
01:10:36,420 --> 01:10:38,659
As I'm an irrational person, I have
287
01:10:38,659 --> 01:10:40,039
always multiple
288
01:10:40,039 --> 01:10:41,819
purposes for the single thing.
289
01:10:42,420 --> 01:10:44,039
The gym is not a gym for me.
290
01:10:44,039 --> 01:10:45,460
I also take a shower there,
291
01:10:45,460 --> 01:10:46,880
come back to work and work.
292
01:10:47,359 --> 01:10:49,640
When I go to David Lloyd's, the spa, I
293
01:10:49,640 --> 01:10:51,520
make sure that the kids go to the club.
294
01:10:51,520 --> 01:10:54,239
I have dinner there and I use the new
295
01:10:54,239 --> 01:10:56,279
Volvo there to make sure that I can get
296
01:10:56,279 --> 01:10:57,319
the taste of the Volvo.
297
01:10:57,739 --> 01:10:58,979
At least for three months
298
01:10:58,979 --> 01:11:00,340
in the subscription plan.
299
01:11:00,619 --> 01:11:03,359
So I'm always mixing the things in a
300
01:11:03,359 --> 01:11:05,199
bundle where I have the
301
01:11:05,199 --> 01:11:07,260
most adventures as I can.
302
01:11:08,119 --> 01:11:09,479
But is this easy for
303
01:11:09,479 --> 01:11:10,859
the people next to you?
304
01:11:10,859 --> 01:11:11,899
Definitely not though.
305
01:11:12,119 --> 01:11:14,939
But for myself, when I'm saying that I'm
306
01:11:14,939 --> 01:11:17,199
resting though, I also make
307
01:11:17,199 --> 01:11:19,060
sure that people around me,
308
01:11:19,119 --> 01:11:21,399
I adapt to their situation as well.
309
01:11:21,819 --> 01:11:22,560
What do I mean?
310
01:11:22,640 --> 01:11:25,000
Such as a friend of mine is depressed and
311
01:11:25,000 --> 01:11:26,960
he is or she is from a
312
01:11:26,960 --> 01:11:28,239
Turkish culture though.
313
01:11:28,239 --> 01:11:30,500
I make sure that I don't do all that week
314
01:11:30,500 --> 01:11:32,399
and I make sure that I binge
315
01:11:32,399 --> 01:11:34,279
movies with her or with him.
316
01:11:34,619 --> 01:11:37,420
And I changed my life because to make
317
01:11:37,420 --> 01:11:40,260
sure that I can help her or help him is
318
01:11:40,260 --> 01:11:41,399
very, very important.
319
01:11:41,819 --> 01:11:44,439
So for my irrational life, I find it
320
01:11:44,439 --> 01:11:45,800
very, very rational to be
321
01:11:45,800 --> 01:11:47,600
able to support on time.
322
01:11:51,760 --> 01:11:54,140
As I know, I'm very irrational.
323
01:11:54,619 --> 01:11:55,800
I understand the
324
01:11:55,800 --> 01:11:57,659
importance of monitoring myself.
325
01:11:57,859 --> 01:11:59,680
One of the reasons that I'm playing poker
326
01:11:59,680 --> 01:12:01,020
is not just the gamble.
327
01:12:01,279 --> 01:12:02,420
Yes, gambling is fun.
328
01:12:02,819 --> 01:12:04,899
But the reality is once you are playing
329
01:12:04,899 --> 01:12:06,420
poker, I realize that
330
01:12:06,420 --> 01:12:07,899
when I make bad decisions,
331
01:12:08,399 --> 01:12:11,279
one of the key factors is I'm not resting
332
01:12:11,279 --> 01:12:12,260
enough and I'm not
333
01:12:12,260 --> 01:12:13,619
enjoying the game enough.
334
01:12:14,420 --> 01:12:16,359
If you are going to take anything from
335
01:12:16,359 --> 01:12:18,060
this video, understand there are
336
01:12:18,060 --> 01:12:19,520
different cognitions in the
337
01:12:19,520 --> 01:12:20,920
world and you are one of them.
338
01:12:21,199 --> 01:12:22,539
Try to take the test
339
01:12:22,539 --> 01:12:24,260
that I mentioned down below.
340
01:12:24,539 --> 01:12:26,180
One of them is a co-enation test.
341
01:12:26,180 --> 01:12:27,819
One of them is a cognition test.
342
01:12:27,819 --> 01:12:29,520
One of them is a personality test.
343
01:12:30,180 --> 01:12:32,279
Try to understand yourself and try to
344
01:12:32,279 --> 01:12:33,859
create a resting system
345
01:12:33,859 --> 01:12:36,859
strategy tailored for yourself.
346
01:12:37,119 --> 01:12:39,300
Don't just watch a video and try to fix
347
01:12:39,300 --> 01:12:41,220
yourself by watching the video.
348
01:12:41,420 --> 01:12:43,180
I couldn't fully fix myself though.
349
01:12:43,239 --> 01:12:46,300
Yes, I was able to increase my income by
350
01:12:46,300 --> 01:12:49,939
100x in the last 10 years, but money is
351
01:12:49,939 --> 01:12:51,140
also one of the
352
01:12:51,140 --> 01:12:52,619
factors in this game though.
353
01:12:53,039 --> 01:12:54,659
I still don't have the six pack.
354
01:12:54,939 --> 01:12:57,560
I can't say I did the rest enough though.
355
01:12:57,939 --> 01:13:00,319
As I mentioned in this video, I couldn't
356
01:13:00,319 --> 01:13:02,739
rest while I'm recording this video.
357
01:13:02,939 --> 01:13:04,579
But right now, I have to solve the
358
01:13:04,579 --> 01:13:06,939
problem of the Amir sending him and
359
01:13:06,939 --> 01:13:09,500
completing his payment as well as for the
360
01:13:09,500 --> 01:13:11,640
Andres who is not here today.
361
01:13:11,920 --> 01:13:14,180
So I need to make sure that I bundle the
362
01:13:14,180 --> 01:13:16,359
things, do the things at the same time.
363
01:13:16,359 --> 01:13:18,760
And I also understand that I have to work
364
01:13:18,760 --> 01:13:23,060
on my resting techniques and become
365
01:13:23,060 --> 01:13:25,300
better at this process because it's going
366
01:13:25,300 --> 01:13:26,380
to be a harder life.
367
01:13:26,840 --> 01:13:28,180
The year end is coming.
368
01:13:28,460 --> 01:13:31,720
I have to complete my payments of the tax
369
01:13:31,720 --> 01:13:35,020
office and make sure that I can play this
370
01:13:35,020 --> 01:13:36,439
game at a higher level.
371
01:13:36,720 --> 01:13:39,960
I'm getting new visas in the US globally
372
01:13:39,960 --> 01:13:42,000
and in the Asia as well.
373
01:13:42,399 --> 01:13:43,779
I will be flying more.
374
01:13:44,180 --> 01:13:46,899
So I need to understand resting is
375
01:13:46,899 --> 01:13:48,520
becoming much more
376
01:13:48,520 --> 01:13:50,979
crucial part of my game.
377
01:13:50,979 --> 01:13:53,899
And I have to rest every single day
378
01:13:53,899 --> 01:13:55,479
because my engines are
379
01:13:55,479 --> 01:13:56,579
running all the time.
380
01:13:56,579 --> 01:13:58,479
I'm flying this plane all the time and
381
01:13:58,479 --> 01:14:00,159
I'm doing something that's very very
382
01:14:00,159 --> 01:14:03,220
repetitive, very easy to get burned out.
