As a researcher, I'm often asked why I choose to use Loom for customer discovery. The answer is simple: Loom allows me to focus on one funnel at a time.
When you're working on customer discovery, you need to have a problem, a solution, and an MVP (minimum viable product). The MVP is the video, and the problem solution is your content. But the funnel that you're going to load on top of it has to make sure that it gets your MVP, because the medium is the message. You're going to realize that the video that you release on LinkedIn is not the same video that you release on YouTube, and they are going to be completely different from each other. So you need to focus on one funnel, not multiple funnels.

If you're starting out, I suggest you use a website and a loan to make sure that you can write there freely. Once you understand that you've got the problem solution fit done and the MVP done, then you can focus on one funnel at a time. And once you focus on that funnel, make sure that you only focus on one funnel and understand what works and what doesn't. You should definitely package this into a product. Meaning there is no discover. You could not discover a customer store, you can't validate it, you shouldn't try to sell it. Discover the customers first, and funnel to your MVP mapping is one to one. Don't try to use buffer and try to go to multiple platforms all at once. Just start with one platform and focus on one platform.
If you're testing, test on a website and test using Loom. Loom will not give you content ideas, nor will it force you to take any specific action. You can easily share it on WhatsApp with your friends and collect feedback as you go along.
In conclusion, Loom is a great tool for customer discovery because it allows you to focus on one funnel at a time and easily share your research with others for feedback.
